Camden County man identified in Jim Thorpe helicopter crash NBC10 Philadelphia

A 40-year-old man from Haddon Township, New Jersey, has been identified as one of the two people killed in a helicopter crash in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, according to NBC affiliate WBRE.

The crash occurred at around 4 p.m. near the 300 block of Maury Road near Penn’s Peak, WBRE confirmed at the time.

The helicopter was doing line work in the area at the time of the crash, according to WBRE.

The South Jersey man, Michael Higgins, was the lineman for the helicopter, according to WBRE.

The helicopter’s pilot, 52-year-old Jeffrey Patmore of Terrace, British Columbia, was also killed in the crash, according to WBRE.

A cause of the crash is still under investigation, according to WBRE.
