Arkadia-Life brings the 911 into your living room for US$30,000

The latest launch from Chinese design brand Arkadia-Life, the P01 Classic Sofa, compresses  a long-hood Porsche 911 into a single-seater sofa for motor enthusiasts looking to bring the look of the iconic sports care into their living room.

The 911’s recognisable headlights are among the details that bring the design to life, alongside amber indicators, slim chrome bumpers and twin exhaust tips. The seat is upholstered in channel-quilted cowhide leather, styled after vintage bucket seats and available in eight colours.

Beneath its automotive exterior, the P01 also features seven hidden storage compartments, including a built-in refrigerator, wine storage, adjustable cup holders and a wireless charging pad.

The rear fenders open to reveal additional drawers, while a 13-speaker SENSONUM audio system, Bluetooth connectivity and multicolour ambient lighting bring further functionality to the design. Five knock-sensing panels integrated into the bodywork allow users to control its features without the need for conventional buttons.

For further personalisation of the P01, the upholstery and storage can be customised in an array of colours. Just note that some finishes might come with an additional price tag of $1,350 USD.

Guided by their “The One and Always” philosophy, Arkadia-Life took inspiration from a legendary motor classic for the new piece of furniture. The motto is even featured on the back license plate found right under the hidden fridge compartment.

Regardless, it should be noted that the P01 Classic Sofa is not a collaboration project between Porsche and Arkadia-Life, just an inspired homage to the coveted vehicle of the German manufacturer.

If you’re interested in the sofa but don’t have the floor space, the P02 Max Wall Speaker  takes that same automotive front but reimagines it as a speaker and storage system for one-tenth of the P01 price tag.

Prices for the sofa start at US$30,000 with add-on packages available for customisation.
