Over two inches of rain fell in just 12 hours and flooding was widespread with many roads being left under water.
At the mill complex, the warehouse was left under three feet of water and both the card room and scutching room where cotton was prepared for spinning were flooded.
The workforce of 360 was sent home – the first time in 40 years that flooding had shut down operations there.
