Motorcyclist in 20s dies and man arrested after crash

Police were called to Chorley Old Road at around 9.40pm following the collision, which happened on the eastbound side and involved a Skoda Fabia and a motorbike.
Traffic system Inrix said the road had been sealed off from Bottom O’Th’Moor to Old Kiln Lane.
The road has now been reopened.
Emergency services attended but the rider of the motorbike, a man in his 20s, died.
The driver of the Skoda Fabia, a man in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody for questioning.

Greater Manchester Police’s serious collision investigation unit are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone or doorbell footage, from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
