Throughout her long life, Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s devotion to the nation was recognised and praised not only in Thailand, but also globally.

From her contribution to the Thai silk industry, wildlife conservation, food safety promotion and the improvement of women’s status to helping refugees, the late Queen Mother set up a number of royal initiatives to ensure better livelihoods for the people of Thailand and beyond.

In remembrance of the Queen Mother’s boundless compassion and commitment, Life has brought together just some of her awards and accolades from prestigious institutions at home and around the world.

Queen Sirikit was honoured as Conservationist of the Year in 1994 by Russel Train, president of the World Wildlife Fund, at Chitralada Palace, with His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej in attendance.
