Council refuses planning permission for two-storey, double garage extension
A resident applied for planning permission for a property on Butterfield Road, Hulton, on October 2, which has now been refused.
The extension would have increased the size of the first floor of the property using light brown buff brick to match the existing brickwork, as well as a grey slate roof.
The report stated: “The garage, by reason of its design and siting, would have an undue impact on the street scene.
“The proposed rear extension by reason of its scale and design would be out of keeping with the existing dwelling.

“The proposed rear extension by reason of its design and siting would impact detrimentally on the outlook and living conditions of neighbouring residents at 25 Butterfield Road.”
The rear of the proposed extension was also within two metres of the property’s boundary, which was deemed insufficient space.
The resident is able to appeal the council’s decision to the Government’s Planning Inspectorate.
