Tragedy as man dies in motorway crash involving pedestrian and car

Police say there were called to a crash on the M6 between a pedestrian and an Audi Q7 that had been travelling north between junctions 33 and 34 near Lancaster at around 11pm on Saturday.
Officers say that the pedestrian, a man in his 30s, died at the scene while the Audi driver was “shocked by physically unhurt.”
Sgt Bex Price, of Lancashire Police’s road policing unit, said: “This collision very sadly resulted in the death of a man and my thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.
“I would appeal to anyone who has any information or footage such as dashcam or mobile to get in touch with us.”
Officers say that the man’s next of kin have been informed and that their thoughts are with his loved ones.

The road remained closed after the incident on Saturday evening and was eventually reopened as of 8.25am today, Sunday.
