WarHorse Gaming warns off fraudulent online app
WarHorse Gaming, the parent company of casinos in Lincoln and Omaha, is warning of an online gaming scam involving a fraudulent mobile app.
In a Friday news release, WarHorse warned of online advertisements that promote a mobile app that claims to be affiliated with the company.
The ads, which have circulated on social media and other platforms, encourage users to download an app that appears legitimate.
But the fraudulent app is not associated with WarHorse, the release said.
Since online gambling is illegal in the state of Nebraska, a platform suggesting otherwise could potentially put users at risk, the release said.
The company, which operates the WarHorse Lincoln near West Denton Road and U.S. 77, said it is working to remove the false advertisements.
